Welcome to Angie's blog

Daily thoughts, honest stories, and a behind-the-scenes look as I write my very first book.

My Journal of Home, Heart, and Little Moments

Welcome to my little corner of the internet. This is where I share my daily journal entries, the small moments that make up my days, and the things that bring me comfort — like sun tea, Hallmark movies, my furkids, and the quiet routines of home. I write about whatever is happening in my life, from the weather to my favorite shows, from memories of the Seahawks to the simple joys of cooking and taking care of my cats. This blog is my place to unwind, reflect, and share the everyday moments that make life feel warm and familiar.

Hi, I’m Angie. I live a quiet, peaceful life surrounded by the things I love most — my coffee, my cats, and the calm routines that make each day feel cozy. I’m a coffee lover through and through, and there’s nothing better to me than starting my morning with a warm cup while my furkids wander around, watching everything I do.

My cats are a big part of my world. They follow me from room to room, keep me company while I write, and bring so much comfort and personality into my home. I enjoy simple days, quiet moments, Hallmark movies, sun tea, and the little things that make life feel soft and steady.

This blog is where I share my daily thoughts, my routines, and the peaceful moments that make up my life. If you enjoy calm days, cozy stories, and the love of pets, you’ll feel right at home here with me.

welcome to my blog

Welcome to my blog where I share my daily life and my cats and bits of my day‑to‑day life. I live in a trailer in Petersburg, VA in a quiet trailer park that I have called home for 2 full years. I have 3 cats from the ages of 6 months to 2 years old. Bella is 2 — she’s dramatic as you know what and has a mind of her own. Most of the time she does not like to be held and she never cuddles with me, but this morning she crawled on my chest a few times. Ginger is feisty and hates being picked up and will squirm out of my arms trying to scratch me up. Butterscotch is 6 months old — he gets wild with the zoomies, attacks my ankles, and tries to climb up my pant leg. The girls are grey and Butterscotch is orange.

They all have nicknames: Bella is Bella the Big Fatty Cat, Ginger is Gingy, and Butterscotch is Butters. Bella enjoys being in the front room on the bay window watching the world go by, which is where she is hanging out right now. Ginger loves the living room and the cats’ room windows. She also loves watching the world go by and sunbathing in the morning when the sun comes up from the east. Butterscotch loves hanging out with his biggest sissy.

I got all 3 of my cats from across the street. They are blood‑related. My neighbors across the street have 2 cats, Rambo and Pumpkin. Pumpkin is a grey cat with a mixture of colors like Ginger, and Rambo is orange. Bella came from Pumpkin and looks just like her daddy — she gets her big cat features from him. Ginger and Butterscotch come from Rambo. Rambo is Bella’s sister from the same litter.

All day long I have been watching Hallmark movies and enjoying my day. A few weeks ago I got YT TV and I have my home internet back — it was a year since I had home internet, and it feels good to have cable and internet again.

I have had SSDI for 2 years and have been retired for almost 2 years now. I had depression up until almost 3 years ago when I was hospitalized in the mental health ward. While I was in the hospital, I got kicked out of the home I was renting a room in. Three days after I got out, I went to a crisis home, and then they moved me to an adult transitional home where I lived for 6 months until I got my home in Petersburg.

Petersburg was always a special place I wanted to live in for many years, and God answered my prayers when I asked Him to take me far away from Henrico County. I have a lot of trauma in Henrico County, my hometown, and I wanted to get as far from there as I could. I’m living a much happier mental‑health and depression‑free life now.

I wrote 3 books last year, but they didn’t take off like I hoped. I wrote a bio of myself, a memoir, and a journal book where I took a 100‑day journey of healing that cured my mental health. I’m trying again at writing another journal book, but this time I plan on using a different publisher — IngramSpark — because I hope to have my books in major retailers like Target, Walmart, and big bookstores. Each journal entry I write, I pray for words and wisdom, and God helps me with writing my book each and every day. I’ve been writing for over a week now.

I have struggled for a year because after one year of SSDI they signed me up for Medicare, and Medicare was taking $200 from my SSDI check, leaving me $1,000 a month. Without EBT and without transportation, I had to live on cheap food and pay cash. I have a disability that keeps me from standing for long periods, which is why I can’t work anymore. I have had osteoarthritis for 3 years now — maybe longer — but it was diagnosed 3 years ago. It has gotten worse and causes me severe back pain, so I can’t work.

I love being at home with my cats, and I know they love it when I’m always home. I also work on a YouTube channel that I’m trying to monetize. My YouTube channel is Butterscotch & The Girls. You’re welcome to go on YouTube, search us, and subscribe. You’re also welcome to leave me comments — I answer every comment.

Thank you for reading my blog, and I hope you enjoy it.
